Wendy Williams Biopic to Cover Her Addiction, Date Rape, Former Marriage and More

Wendy Williams is revealing a lot in her upcoming lifetime biopic Just Wendy.

According to TMZ, the project will span her life from ages 10 to 55. It will cover her coke habit, fat shaming from her family and a never-before-told story of date rape at the hands of a chart-topping artist.

The biopic will also reportedly include her experiences with racism and sexism in Hollywood and details about her marriage and divorce from Kevin Hunter.

Williams filed for divorce from Hunter in April after news broke that he’d had baby with his longtime girlfriend. Williams decline in health and delay of returning to her talk show earlier in 2019 are speculated to be tied to the stress from her personal life.

When asked about who’d be portraying her, the daytime talkshow host told TMZ, “Somebody unknown, because I don’t want the distraction from the story.”

Just Wendy will be produced by Williams and Girls Trip and Little‘s Will Packer. The screenplay is being written by Williams and Boomerang’s Leigh Davenport.

The biopic is expected to release in 2020.
