The 2020 Grammys will feature an all-star tribute to the late Nipsey Hussle.
Kirk Franklin, DJ Khaled, John Legend, Meek Mill, Roddy Ricch and YG have all been tapped to posthumously honor the Grammy-nominated rapper.
Hussle, whose real name is Ermias Asghedom, was shot and killed last March outside his clothing store.
He scored three posthumous Grammy nominations for the 2020 awards.
The rapper’s nods include Best Rap Performance for “Racks in the Middle,” alongside Roddy Ricch & Hit-Boy, Best Rap/Sung Performance for “Higher,” a collaboration with DJ Khaled and John Legend, and Best Rap Song for “Racks in the Middle”.
“An activist, entrepreneur and rapper, Nipsey Hussle had a lasting impact on not just his community, but also the culture at large,” said Grammy Awards executive producer Ken Ehrlich.
“There is no denying the influence he had and his legacy will be felt for generations to come. We are honored to bring together this amazing group of artists to celebrate Nipsey’s life and pay tribute to his many contributions to music. It’s sure to be a memorable performance.”
