Sunday Best kicked off its first ever All Stars season tonight. The eighth season opened up with a lethal performance from every Sunday Best Winner thus far. And you know Le’Andria sung her face off.
As the show went on, the ten all stars were revealed, and I have to be honest and say I was a little disappointed. Back in April, The Top Tea put out a list of 13 people who should make the Top Ten. The people on our list to make it were Drew Chambers, Tiquila Wilson, Clifton Ross, Brightnie Jones, and Martha Buries.
The ten lucky contestants to come back were Zebulon Ellis, Sue Roseberry, Dathan Thigpen, Brightnie Jones, Clifton Ross, Tiquila Wilson, Kalind Haynes, Drew Chambers, Martha Buries, Terrill Hall. While they are all deserving, where were the other power houses like Ashford Sanders, Serena Young, and Andrea Helms?
During the first half, the first person to sing their face off was Mama Sue. The song choice fit her well. Tiquila Wilson and Drew Chambers both did amazing jobs, but the judges did not seem to agree. And ‘sista gurl’ Martha Buries came through and showed why she was back.
On the second half of the show, the contestants did better overall. Zebulon Ellis solidified his spot on the show. Tiquila gave the judges what they were asking for. Martha came out again and proved that she’s heading to the end, but Terrill Hall just about took home the title of Sunday Best.

At the end of tonight’s 2-hour opener, Drew Chambers and Kalind Hayes were eliminated. I don’t know what’s going on at Sunday Best, but eliminating Drew Chambers in the beginning again? Something is not right.
Overall, the song choices tonight were not up to par. I’m still trying to figure out where Ashford Sanders was. The best thing to come from tonight was Kim Burrell’s shady “I wish you all the best” remark (lol).
When I tell you that Kim Burrell is KILLING me with that one line….."I wish you all the best…" I'm sooooo weak!! ????? #SundayBest
