Solange Knowles announced on Friday (Nov. 1) that she and her husband Alan Ferguson separated earlier this year. Following her announcement, social users began speculating that infidelity played a role in the couple’s split.

Multiple users accused Solange of cheating on Ferguson based on their interpretations on her post.

However, others noted that there was no reason to conclude she cheated from her statement.

The “white” man in question is actually her former co-manager, John Boggard. Solange confirmed this on her Instagram Stories while essentially calling some people on the internet unkind and liars.

Despite her post on Instagram, the narrative that she cheated was still running rapid, so on Sunday Solange took to Twitter to make it explicitly clear that she wasn’t involved in an extramarital affair.

Hopefully there is no confusion left.
