Shooting at San Bernardino’s North Park Elementary Leave Two Dead

Two adults are dead and two children are in critical condition after a shooting at North Park Elementary School in San Bernardino, California. San Bernardino Police are currently investigating the incident as a murder-suicide.

Chief of the San Bernardino Police Department Jarrod Burguan tweeted at 10:55am PST that there were reports of a shooting at the elementary school. At 10:56am he said that the preliminary information was that there were four victims. At 11:02 he tweeted that two students had been transported to the hospital. And at 11:32 Chief Burguan confirmed that two adults were dead in the classroom.

San Bernardino Police Lt. Michael Madden told reporters that a female victim was killed and a male died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound. San Bernardino Police Capt. Ron Maass said the suspect had gone to the classroom to visit the female victim, who was an instructor. At this point, police do not believe the two children were targeted.

District Superintendent Dale Marsden has said that North Park Elementary will be closed for the next two days. Heartbreaking.
