Raven-Symoné made a huge announcement on The View. She hasn’t been on the show as much lately, and now she’ll be leaving the table before 2017. But that’s because That’s So Raven is coming back!
The hit Disney Channel series is returning in a different capacity. Raven will be starring in the show and executive producing. According to Entertainment Weekly, on the currently untitled spin-off series, Raven is a divorced mother of two pre-teens, one of whom has actually inherited mom’s ability to see into the future (although, like Raven, the kid can likely only see just enough of future events to hilariously misinterpret them).
Raven radiated as she shared the news. That’s So Raven aired on Disney Channel from 2003-2007. It was the first show on Disney Channel to hit 100 episodes. And it still has a cult like following.
“Raven’s brilliant style of fearless comedy was a driving force for Disney Channel’s success around the world,” said Disney Channel’s Worldwide executive vice president Adam Bonnett. “Her performance in That’s So Raven is timeless. We now have our eyes on the future with her, and we’re looking forward to telling more stories for a new generation with an adult Raven Baxter raising her young family.”
Raven’s co-host Candice Cameron Burr, who’s notably known for her role in Full House and stars in Fuller House (a sequel series to Full House), asked if the show would serve as a reunion for the original characters. Raven responded saying she doesn’t know, but that the show is looking for really talented males and females.
This will be the second spin-off for the critically-acclaimed show following Cory in the House. Who’s excited to see the return of That’s So Raven? Congratulations Raven-Symoné! Check out her announcement below:
