Netflix’s Michael B. Jordan-produced superhero drama Raising Dion has been renewed for a second season.

Raising Dion ranked no 10. on Netflix’s 2019 most popular series list and no. 1 for the streamer’s most popular kids & family series. So a second season pickup was expected.

The series, starring Alisha Wainwright and Ja’Siah Young as Nicole and Dion respectively, scored an eight episode sophomore order.

Production on the second season will begin this year. Carol Barbee will return as showrunner, and Michael B. Jordan, who appeared in the first season, will return as an executive producer alongside Kenny Goodman, Kim Roth, Dennis Liu and Charles D. King’s Macro.

A return date for the show has not been announced.
