Following the announcement of the nominations for the Oscars, many people became frustrated with the lack of diversity in the nominations. Like I said in the last twitter post, hashtags are everything, and they continuously seem to open up dialogues that haven’t been had before and that haven’t been had with broad audiences. After the announcement, the hashtag #OscarsSoWhite begin to trend. Check out a few of the tweets below:

From the tweets you can see that it isn’t just Blacks (or African-Americans) feeling the neglect of Hollywood. On Facebook however, (besides the number one liked comment) the sentiments weren’t the same when The Shade Room posted that there were no Black people nominated. Take a look below to see:
