Naya Rivera Missing and Presumed Drowned After 4-Year-Old Son Found in Boat Alone on California Lake

Actress Naya Rivera is missing and ‘presumed drowned’ after her 4-year-old son was found sleeping alone in a boat on Lake Piru in Ventura County, California on Wednesday.

According to the Ventura County Sherriff’s Office, the 33-year-old actress rented a boat around 1 p.m. to take out on Lake Piru. About three hours later, another boater found her son sleeping in the boat by himself.

As CBSLA reports, the boater notified officials, who immediately began a search for Rivera with the use of helicopters, drones and dive teams.

Her son reportedly told investigators that he and his mother were swimming, but his mother never got back into the boat.

Rivera, shared this picture of her and her son on her social outlets Tuesday.

Rivera is best known for her role on Glee wherein she portrayed Santana Lopez. She currently stars on Step Up which recently announced a third season on Starz after being canceled by YouTube.

According to the Sherriff’s Office, Rivera is presumed dead, but they are still searching for her. Authorities say the search for Rivera is set to continue early Thursday morning.
