In New Hope, Minnesota, two police officers are recovering from being shot after leaving a swearing-in ceremony for new officers.
Police say Rayman Kemetz opened fire on the officers on Monday night as they vacated the building.
Chief Deputy Mike Carlson explained what transpired that night. — “When the swearing-in ceremony was completed, the officers left the council chambers. At that point in time an adult male engaged these officers with a handgun and begin firing it. Two officers were struck by the gunfire.”
This is not the first time the accused gunman accused has had a run-in with the law. Court records show he once drove a bulldozer at a police officer and reportedly threatened to take a gun to city offices in Crystal.
Kemetz was shot multiple times after firing on the police officers and died as a result of his injuries. The two police officers are expected to recover just fine.
Many people are sensitive about their gun rights, but what are you willing to do stop the senseless killing of innocent people? This situation could’ve easily turned out differently…
