Meredith and Riggs May Be a Thing

Last night’s episode of Grey’s Anatomy had many shocking twists. Stephanie’s rockstar Kyle died, Amelia proposed to Owen, and Meredith and Nathan Riggs hooked up (well at least we are lead to believe so).

After Meredith was put in her place by Alex, she picked a fight with newcomer Riggs; however, Riggs wasn’t having it. Unlike Amelia who earlier in the episode took unwarranted bashing from Meredith, Riggs shut Mer down. It must’ve turned her on, because she ending up making out with vet and then doing what we’re all presuming.

Throughout the episode it seemed that Riggs was going to hook up with Maggie. Hopefully that doesn’t start any drama within the sister pack.

Riggs portrayed by Martin Henderson recently told Entertainment Weekly about his hookup with Meredith. “Like most people, I presumed that it was inevitable,” Henderson said. “However, they were taking such sweet time about it. I actually was starting to doubt, maybe Shonda won’t put me with Meredith. Actually, when I was reading episode 23, I honestly thought it was going to be Maggie and Nathan. I did not see that ending coming at all. It shocked me when I realized. I’m hoping the audience has a similar reaction, because it does come out of left field, which is fun. The way they get together, it’s this very reactive, passionate thing. No one has really thought it through. It’s certainly not really romantic. It’s more of a magnetic animal thing that they’ve acted on, the consequences of which remain to be seen.”

This could be great for Meredith, but hopefully not at the expense of Maggie. Guess we’ll have to wait till next week to see the aftermath. Check out the intense scene below:

SN: Shout out to Shonda Rhimes for the great music! Last night Beyoncé’s “Pray You Catch Me” played from her new album Lemonade. Also, Jazmine Sullivan’s “Masterpiece” from her junior project Reality Show.
