Somewhere Laura Ingraham is rolling around in disbelief. Showtime announced Monday that LeBron James will be producing a documentary series for the network titled after Ingraham’s deragotory remark towards James earlier this year.
In February, Fox News’ Laura Ingraham told the NBA superstar to “shut up and dribble” and keep his political commentary to himself, and now James is coining in on her insult.

Now LeBron is producing a show for Showtime, while she has lost all her advertisers except for the guy who sells pillows. I love it.

Shut Up and Dribble, executive produced by James and Maverick Carter, will take a powerful inside look at the changing role of athletes in our fraught cultural and political environment, through the lens of the NBA.

Furthermore, the timely three-part series, directed by Gotham Chopra, will examine athletes who by taking control of their own destinies have helped to bring about social change and make their own statements in the current political climate.
“If being a star athlete is inherently a political experience, Shut Up and Dribble tells that complex and dramatic story from the past to the present and from the inside out,” said David Nevins, President and CEO of Showtime Networks Inc.
“LeBron James is one of many competitors whose place in the spotlight has led not to silence but perspective,” Nevins continued. “And he, Maverick Carter and Gotham Chopra have given us an important, insightful docuseries that should bring their fans and fellow citizens to a higher level of discourse, rather than the dismissal satirized in the title.”
The docu-series is slated to premiere in October.
