Kelly Rowland Serves Us Steamy, Sexy and Melanated “Coffee”

Kelly Rowland is serving us sexy and steamy “Coffee” in her new single illuminating Black women’s sexual desires, and it’s an entire bop.

“Coffee” impressively draws you in for a much-needed experience within mere seconds proclaiming, “coffee and sex in the morning / breakfast in bed, got me moanin’.”

The single not only beautifully highlights Black women’s sexuality, but the accompanying video positions and celebrates dark skin women in a way often disregarded in mainstream content.

The visual, directed by Steven Gomillion, intentionally pivots around Rowland and other dark skin Black women with different hair textures and curves.

“I want to celebrate the women in video—every shade, every coffee color, every curve, every essence and what they gave me,” Rowland told Essence.

She continued: “I just wanted the video to come across like, ‘Here we are standing in all of our beauty, in all of our coffee colored shades, in all of our greatness and you going to take this in.’ And that’s what I wanted and that’s what I want every woman to feel like. So that was my intention, and to be honest, I was hungry for too much of that video.”
