HBO Renews Issa Rae’s ‘Insecure’ for Season 5

HBO has renewed Issa Rae’s critically-acclaimed half-hour comedy Insecure for a fifth season.

“We’re thrilled that Issa, Prentice, and the whole Insecure team will be getting back together for a fifth season,” said Amy Gravitt, executive vice president of HBO Programming, in a statement. “As we laugh and cringe with recognition, their stories make us all feel a little less alone in the world.”

The series fourth season, which premiered on April 12th, is currently following Rae, Yvonne Orji, Jay Ellis, Natasha Rothwell, Amanda Seales, and Alexander Hodge’s characters evaluating their relationships in an effort to figure out who and what comes with them in this next phase of their lives.

The fifth season will see these stories continue to play out.

The premiere date for season five has not been announced.
