Last night at 9:16pm CST, the Greenville Fire Department was dispatched to Hopewell Baptist Church in Greenville, Mississippi. They found the church engulfed in flames. It took them roughly 15 minutes to put out the fire. Thankfully, there were no injuries.
The church was also vandalized. The phrase “Vote Trump” was painted on the side of the building.
Greenville officials held a press conference this morning at 10:30am CST regarding the incident. It was stated that the incident is being treated as a hate crime. You can watch the full press conference below:

According to Heavy, the FBI is also investigating the incident. They released this statement: The FBI Jackson Division is aware of the situation in Greenville, and we are working with our local, state and federal law enforcement partners to determine in any civil rights crimes were committed.
It’s extremely sad that displays of hatred like this still occur, but it’s not surprising. Donald Trump’s controversial campaign hasn’t brought hate into millions of hearts, but it has made people feel comfortable to showcase their true nature.
