Looked at my kingdom, I was finally there / To sit on my throne, as the second prince of Bel-Air? That’s right! Reportedly there is a reboot in the works for The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air.
According to TV Line, Smith’s production shingle, Overbrook Entertainment, is in the very early stages of developing a present-day family comedy that puts a new spin on the fish-out-of-water tale while maintaining the spirit of Fresh Prince. Guess we can dub it Fresh Prince 2.0.
It’s important to note that a reboot means a totally new cast. Some people across Social Media exclaimed how the show could never be the same without Uncle Phil (Rest in Paradise James Avery), but a reboot is basically redoing the show with new people in a new way.
It’s almost been twenty years since the last new episode of Fresh Prince aired. Maybe the timing isn’t off. What do you guys think?
