3 Former Minneapolis Officers Charged with Aiding and Abetting Murder in George Floyd’s Death

The three other fired Minneapolis officers involved in the murder of George Floyd charges have been announced.

Ex-officers Tou Thao, Thomas Lane and J. Alexander Kueng are facing charges of aiding and abetting murder, according to criminal complaints filed by the state of Minnesota on Wednesday.

Derek Chauvin’s third-degree murder charged was also increased to to 2nd-degree murder.

Thao, Kueng, Lane and Chauvin all were involved in murdering Floyd on Monday, May 25. In a viral video of the incident showcasing Floyd’s death, Chauvin is seen suffocating Floyd by pressing his knee against Floyd’s neck.

After days of protests, all four officers are now finally facing charges, but it isn’t over until they’re convicted.
