Authorities Confirm Cleveland Shooter Steve Stephens Is Still At Large

Police in Cleveland, Ohio, and the FBI are currently searching for a man by the name of Steve Stephens. Authorities held a briefing at 9am updating where they are now. That can be viewed here.

On April 16, 2017, Stephens uploaded a video to his Facebook account showing him kill an older man in cold blood.

Stephens also uploaded more videos to his Facebook account detailing why he was on a rampage. In one video he claimed to have killed up to 15 people already.

According to the New York Times, police officials confirmed that a body had been recovered after the shooting video was posted on Facebook around 2 p.m on the 16th. Today (April 17th) Chief Calvin D. Williams said there currently was only one confirmed homicide.

The man Stephens killed has been identified as 74-year-old Robert Godwin Sr. spoke with Goodwin’s son Robert Godwin Jr. He said his father, a retired foundry worker, left behind nine children, 14 grandchildren and a lot of great grandchildren. He described his father as a “good guy” who was quiet and always respectful.

This is a heartbreaking situation, but the threat Stephens brings isn’t over yet. Authorities are warning residents of Pennsylvania, New York, Michigan and Indiana to be cautious. According to CNN, the last signal released from Stephens’ cell phone was in Erie, Pennsylvania, which is about 100 miles from Cleveland.
