Comedian Charlie Murphy Dies At 57 From Leukemia

Comedian Charlie Murphy, the brother of Eddie Murphy, has passed away after battling Leukemia. According to TMZ, Murphy’s manager told them he died Wednesday morning in a NYC hospital. He’d been undergoing chemotherapy and was reportedly getting better.

Murphy served in the military for six years before becoming an actor and comedian. He’s well known for his role on-screen and off-screen for Chapelle’s Show, but he worked on many other projects including Harlem Nights, The Players Club and The Boondocks.

Murphy will also be in the upcoming season of Power playing a wealthy nightclub owner-cum-drug lord who will start season 4 behind bars.

Charlie Murphy leaves behind three children. His wife, Tisha Taylor Murphy, died in 2009 from cervical cancer. Sending positive vibes to his family and friends. Keep his family in your prayers.
