Beyoncé Releases Visual for Anthem ‘Brown Skin Girl’

Beyoncé has released the video for “Brown Skin Girl” featured in her Disney+ film Black Is King.

“Brown Skin Girl,” featuring her daughter Blue Ivy, SAINt JHN and WizKid, was originally released on the Grammy winner’s 2019 LP The Gift.

The song served as anthem for all the Black girls who’ve been harassed and oppressed due to their skin complexion; however, the video extended the anthem’s invitation to Native American and Asian women, Latinas and other women who’ve felt the effects of colorism.

The visual features darkskin women from various ethnic backgrounds including the song’s shoutouts Kelly Rowland, Naomi Campbell and Lupita N’yongo.

If there’s one tearjerking visual to choose from Black Is King, “Brown Skin Girl” takes the crown. Watch the video below:
