The black-ish spinoff is so close to happening *contain your excitement*. The spinoff, which will follow Yara Shahidi’s character Zoey Johnson to college, has added three people to the cast. Trevor Jackson, Matt Walsh and Chris Parnell have all landed roles on the upcoming series.
According to Deadline, Parnell and Walsh are said to be playing college administrators, while Jackson is a freshman at the college Zoey will be attending. All three are guest stars in a planted spinoff episode of black-ish, which has been filmed and airs this spring.
Jackson and Parnell have the option to star as a series regular if the project is officially picked up. Walsh, who is a regular on HBO’s Veep, will either guest star or be a recurring character.
The untitled show is created by black-ish creator/executive producer Kenya Barris and former black-ish show-runner Larry Wilmore, so it’s highly unlikely that it won’t be a hit. For this time in our world, this type of television of desperately needed.
