A Sister Sister reunion has been in the works for over a year now, but Tia Mowry-Hardict recently dished out an update on the status of a revival.
While chatting with Nylon, Tia said she and her sister are on the hunt for a team. “We’re looking, right now, for a producer and a writer, someone who can kind of be a leader of the pack in regards to running the show,” says Tia. “I thought people would kind of be jumping on it, but it’s a lot harder than my sister and I thought it would be. Everything in my career has always been a challenge.”
The other half of Sister Sister Tamera Mowry-Housley confirmed the reunion was in the works last year while on Essence Live. On a recent episode of her talk-show The Real, she discussed reviving Sister Sister and her statement was similar to Tia’s.
The great thing is that the entire cast is already on board which is key to a successful reboot. If Will and Grace and Roseanne can get new episodes, then so can Sister Sister.
Even though it’s taking longer then the sisters originally thought, Tia says to keep the hope. “It’s not dead in any kind of way,” she says. “We’re moving forward, we’re taking those strides. They’re slow strides, but we’re pushing as hard as we can to make people happy and make our fans happy.”
