There are multiple dead after a shooting at a shopping center in El Paso, Texas, on Saturday.

El Paso’s police department sent out a tweet at 11:09am MT to avoid the Cielo Vista Mall Area due to an active shooter.

El Paso’s Mayor shared at 1:12pm that there were several fatalities and multiple suspects in custody. Varying reports suggested there were multiple shooters; however, an updated report from police say otherwise.

The police have not confirmed the amount of casualties, injuries or concrete details about the shooter or motive, but they believe it was one shooter and that suspect is in custody.

The scene is however still considered active.

Watch the media brief from El Paso’s Sgt. Enrigue Carrillo below:

According to reports, the shooting was localized to the Walmart in the center, but police have not confirmed all locations. Walmart has issued a statement in response to the shooting.
