Nationally known activist Deray McKesson was arrested in Baton Rouge last night during a peaceful protest. The arrest took place while he was live on Periscope. Those viewing immediately took to social media to express their concerns and #FreeDeray rose to the number trend quickly. Earlier today, McKesson was released from custody, and Black Twitter turned his release into another worthy hashtag with #DerayHasBeenReleasedParty.
