Being Mary Jane is back on the right track. BET and Gabrielle Union have reached a settlement in Union’s multi-million dollar suit against the network.
“BET Networks is pleased to announce that they have reached an amicable agreement with Gabrielle Union and look forward to sharing the new season of Being Mary Jane with its loyal fans beginning January 10, 2017,” the network said in a statement provided to Deadline.
Union filed a breach of contract suit against the network back in October. She claimed that BET and the show’s producers went back on an agreement regarding the number of episodes in a season so production could run back-to-back and cut cost.
Union was seeking 3 million dollars in damages and an agreement that BET wouldn’t attempt to produce more than 13 episodes during any season of Being Mary Jane.
Now that this is settled, who’s looking forward to the new season of Being Mary Jane?
